Mommyhood: A Tale of Two Mornings

Ok, so yesterday we saw the YUCKY side of mommyhood but I have to keep it balanced. For every one thing that your child does that is gross, frustrating, infuriating, confusing, or makes you wonder if it could be possible to put them back in and just squeeze your legs real tight, there are a million moments like today.

About two weeks ago I started teaching Bboy about intersections. He told me about how he and his dad had walked in the street and they shouldn't have because it's not good to walk in the street, "right mommy?" (his new favorite phrase even when he knows it's not "right, mommy"). I took the opportunity to tell him about when streets cross, you can't help but walk in the street and that it's called an intersection. Fast forward to this morning as I struggled to take a knot out of his shoe. When I finally go it out, Bboy looked around asking where the knot went.

"No, baby" I explained. "Knots are made out of two things being tied together. You cross the two things, like string, and then pull it tight. That holds them together."
"That's like an innersecsion, right mommy?"
"That's right, baby. You're so smart!"

Did I mention that he's three?

It was a tale of two mornings and it's why I love mommyhood with my son!
